theamaranth Posted December 12, 2007 Report Share Posted December 12, 2007 okay. so I never post on here... but I do go on ap.net quite a bit. and being a paramorefan, I go into paramore threads. all I ever see are comments like, "I hate paramore" "she sucks at singing" "I'd do her!!" "haley, we were born in the same year, let's get naked." ****note how they spelt her name wrong. ugh. "paramore got nominated for a grammy, I'm going to kill myself." I about wanted to scream. okay, I understand that the music industry has a very self-explanatory title. it is in fact, an industry. meaning the more you sell the more you make. and I'm not saying that paramore "sold-out" when they got big.. but some ppl think they did. and with mega stardom comes the newbie fans.. who think they now everything about paramore and they wanna dye their hair like hayley's...and all that jazz. ...stuff like that happens and then you go to a concert... and they play "never let this go.." and suddenly...the crowd participation drops!!! hmm, now I wonder why that is..haha. but really. I'm so proud of them getting a grammy nod. and I'm glad that when kristina met them again at the show in nov. they talked to her about their old fans opinions and how they hope no one thinks they really are selling out. that gives me hope. hope that they will never lose the passion they have for creating their OWN music... apparently, there's even a big conspiracy (no pun intended) on ap.net that they don't even write their own music. how lame. I really hope they never feel pressure (again with no pun. gahh I'ma dork) from FBR to create anything but their own style. and to all those lame guys that only like paramore and go to show in hopes that hearing THEIR voice, out of like the million other guys hayley has ever performed in front of, will coax her into marrying them. a phrase for them: GET OVER YOURSELVES!! hahah hayley is far too badass to even give a second glance to those looooosers. =p so yea. that's my rant. and hopefully you agree. But then I go, if Paramore wasn't as famous as they are right now you wouldn't be saying that. Nowadays it seemed to be some kind of cool to hate Paramore and post messages like above. kristina Posted December 13, 2007 Report Share Posted December 13, 2007 woo go heather =] i totally agree with everything you said. i can't stand ap.net they dont know anything seriously. and yes straight from the the mouth of hayley williams at the show in boston she hopes that none of her old fans think they are selling out and they are honestly the same people they've always been just with a bigger fanbase now. they try to make as much time as they can for everyone and they hope no one thinks any differently of them. they really truly care about their fans and even in the meet and greet i had with them when their manager told them they had to end it hayley went over and hugged him and said no not yet that was way too short we want to hang out a bit longer with everyone. also they appreciate the support that people have been giving them for years and they recognize it so don't think they don't appreciate it because they do. they said they wouldn't be successful and be able to go on without everyone standing by them all these years. im probably missing other things they said to me that night but thats pretty much it. they truly love all of us. and everyone that says paramore sucks, is just jealous that they don't have a connection/relationship with a band like we all do. but yeah im insanely proud of themmmm for the grammy nomination they deserve it. they've worked hard for it. i know everyone wanted paramore to be their little secret and stay small forever but you have to take into consideration how would u be able to survive touring in a small van with no money and away all the time. ya know? its hard i bet. and with the success they have now it's a little easier but harder on the realtionship they have with their fans. but i know they still try because they do care. them getting big doesnt mean they are selling out ya know? i dont think that has anything to do with selling out. i think if they become something they aren't and they aren't true to themseleves then thats like selling out i guess? but they are the same people and i know it ive had the opportunity to talk to them since i was 14 years old and im 17 right now and they've always been amazing awesome and are the same people each time ive talked to them. so yeah ok im done haha Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
